Review: La Roche Posay Effaclar K

A product that did not work out for me: La Roche Posay Effaclar K.

Description: For oily skin with imperfections. Daily skincare, corrects and progressively transforms the skin surface through micro-exfoliation. Innovation: LHA, a keratolytic active ingredient that performs precise, fine, targeted micro-exfoliation without irritation. Paraben-free formula. The skin texture is smoothed, imperfections are erased, and the pores are tightened and unclogged. The skin is finer, cleaner and softer.
I have combination skin with a lot of nasty blackheads and whiteheads on my nose. So I was looking for a product that will remove it easily without any squeezing and extraction. Decided to get La Roche Posay Effaclar K after reading rave reviews.

Comes in a 30ml tube for more than $30 from Guardian. Sorry can't remember the exact price. You can get it at Guardian or Wastons. Or even at hospitals for a cheaper price.

It has a very unpleasant smell. A little greasy for me upon application. Okay for me, not that bad.

1st to 3rd day: I did not see an improvement on my heads.

4th to 8th day: I started experiencing redness on those areas I applied effaclar K on. I never gave it much thought as some said that it's normal to experience purging. However, it got from bad to worse. The redness was spreading. Not only that, those areas got swollen. I panicked as I had never experienced anything like this before and my condition was not improving!

8th day: I gave up and stopped using it. All my redness and swell subsided eventually though it took me days to recover.

Well, many found it effective. But not for me. Maybe it's just not suitable for my skin type?
