Review: Ichikami Hair Mask

I went to Wastons and saw this interesting-looking range of haircare products - Ichikami. Went online to search for reviews, a few bloggers who used it have given good reviews. I bought it when it was on sale, can't remember the price.

Ichikami Hair Mask also contains Black Soybean and Black Rice Essences which make your hair silky soft and healthier while enjoy refreshing fruity wild Sakura aroma. Suitable for all hair types.

I have used Ichikami Hair Mask for two or three times but left it on my hair for at least 30 mins each time. Comes in a pale-yellow color and has a nice fragance.

Do I like it? No. It pales in comparsion with my Neutrogena Triple Moisture Deep Recovery Hair Mask and Matrix Biolage Ultra Hydrating Balm.

Ichikami Hair Mask has given me a tangle free hair after using. It made my hair smooth enough to run my fingers through it with relative ease, but not silky smooth. It has not moisturized my hair as well as Neutrogena and Matrix Bioloage hair mask. 

I have commented in my previous post that Matrix Bioloage hair mask has improved my hair condition and it has become more healthy now. But, I am not able to comment that for Ichikami Hair mask as I have not used it for long and won't be continuing this hair mask too.

Review: Neutrogena Triple Moisture Deep Recovery Hair Mask

After reading rave reviews on makeupalley, I joined a drugstore spree to get Neutrogena Triple Moisture Deep Recovery Hair Mask which costs around $13. I have seen people selling on ebay but it is much more expensive. Not selling in Singapore retail stores.

Description: The concentrated weekly treatment for soft, lustrous hair developed to treat extra dry or over-processed hair. This intensive moisture treatment rescues even the most dehydrated hair strands. So powerful, just a small amount is enough to restore dried out strands to be soft, lustrous and shining in minutes.



This 170g orange bottle lasted me for months.

The smell is lovely, in fact it smells better than Matrix Biolage Ultra Hydrating Balm. The mask itself is also orangish in colour.

Normally I shampoo my hair, towel-dry it, slap it on my hair and wrap it up with a towel for 30 minutes or so.

Results?

On the first day: After rinsing off, my hair indeed feels very smooth and soft.

Second day: Effects start to wear off. My hair no longer has that very soft and smooth feel.

At the end of one bottle: This mask did moisturize my hair. However, it did nothing to improve the condition of my hair.

I still prefer my Matrix Biolage Ultra Hydrating Balm, it is staying in my HG list!

Review: Matrix Biolage Ultra Hydrating Balm

My favourite hair mask!

I ordered Matrix Biolage Ultra Hydrating Balm from strawberrynet website. It's a very big tub 500ml at S$34 dollars. I have been using it for 6 months now and i'm not even halfway through it!!  One tub should be able to last you for one year or so. By the way, I have long hair at bra length.

Due to a session dyeing and perming half a year ago, my hair was pretty damaged. Dry, limp and lifeless. This mask really saved my hair!!

I take a lot of this mask and slap it into my hair. Wrap up with a towel. Wait for 30 minutes or more, depending on my mood. Then wash it off with cold water. It's always good to wash off your conditioner or hair mask with cold water. Cold water closes the "pores' of our hair. It prevents split ends. Hair will be less frizzy and look shinier!

After washing off, my hair is more moisturized. Very smooth and soft. This mask is unlike those hair masks which only give a temporary effect and do not improve overall hair condition at all. With regular use of this hair mask, my hair has turned much healthier. It really add life and luster to my hair!
